Training For Prisoners - Access2Enterprise

Access2Enterprise

Our participants who are 'on the cusp' of leaving prison or serving community sentences or probation regularly report access to the job market due to barriers arising from their prison record. Valued research has indicated that easier access to employment can be gained through a journey into starting their own business or self-employment.
This opportunity has been recognised by our partners APM Ltd as a valuable contribution to their portfolio of accredited training opportunities.

To achieve success in this project we have strengthened our work with Community Action Derby and will jointly deliver an accredited course from their Centre for Institute of Enterprise & Entrepreneurs (IoEE).

We call this award Access2Enterprise. Each participant will receive > 31 hours of training on the Access2Enterprise Accredited Business Course.

The recruitment of participants will be from the end-to-end caseworkers who contribute to the CFO3 programme.

The project will be delivered across the 3 Contract Package Areas currently supported by Access2Advice CIC namely; East Midlands, Yorkshire & Humberside and North East.

Project goals include:

  • More CFO3 participants will have the skills needed to start their own enterprise
  • Access2Advice will have a proven record in delivering accredited enterprise training
  • Access2Advice staff will increase their capabilities in accredited training delivery
